WoW - 45 - 50

For those of you that just read my HUGE post about WoW and gold, you will already know that I am a level 50. So, how did I get there? Didn't you just post that you were level 45 on like Thrusday or Friday? ITS MONDAY! Did you seriously get 5 levels this weekend? Yes to the first, yes the second. I got the five levels and if all goes well I'll hit the magical Level 58 (Hurah Outlands) in about 1 week, maybe 2. So how did I go from Level 45 to Level 50?

Ok well when I last left my post off I was a level 45 in Tanaris, to be honest this is where it stays for the next level and a half. In Tanaris. I finished all the quests there I could get, including some all the Zul'Farak quests I could get my hands on. Thanks to all the ZF quests, I had some decent gear and was ready to roll. I was a level 46 (and a half) and decided to try some of the 45+ areas of WoW. My first stop? The Hinterlands.

The Hinterlands was a very good area for me, the mosters weren't too high of a level for me to kill, but still gave good XP though a bit of grinding and quests. Overall, not a bad place, I went up two levels, but part of this was that I grinded on a few of the mobs there cause I needed some stuff for an alt from them. Easy-peasy. Now I'm at 48, almost to 50! I decided to head off to Azura or whatever its called, the area right above Ogrimmar.

Azura is a worthless place to quest. Dead serious, no joke, I managed to find about 3 quests to do there and they weren't really all that great. HOWEVER that being said, I was glad I had the FP because at level 49 or 50 you can get a quest from you class trainer in your factions capital who has you go to Azura for a quest chain that gives you some pretty slick gear for your level!

With Azura out of the way, I moved onto Ferlas. Ferlas is a much better place to quest. Lots of quests, and more importantly good mosters. I personally enjoyed a lot of these quests and they went fairly quickly. Also, got some very good quests for Mara there, ran Mara twice and got some good gear out of it. Not half bad! It was here that I hit level 50. Overall I would say that Ferlas was the most enjoyable and the eaisest to level in, but I won't do it at a lower level, not worth it, some of the monsters would give some trouble at level 45-46.

My play time for these 5 levels? About 15 hours. Not bad at all, but its a weekend and I do play better on the weekend than on the weekday, so what can I say? Being Level 50 is good.

WoW - Getting from 40 - 45

Ok,
So you've hit level 40 on the game, you get your mount, and you're stoked to get to 45. I'm going to tell you what I did and didn't do, what did and didn't work for me when hitting 45. First off -

OMG, I'm LVL 30 HNTR AND WANT TO KNOW HW TO LVL 40! PLZ HLP PLZPLZPLZ! Whoa there skippy, I told you where I am in the game, I started this blog at level 40, I will not be going over my ealier levels here. if you really want to know how to go from level 30-40 go find a different guide, or just wait about a month for when I start a new character and probably blog that.

Anyways, first off what I did was -

I AM A L33T lvl 70! Y0u sHoLd BE DoiNG D!ffRent THINGS CAUS I ROX AND YOU'RE N0t A L33T PrO LKe mE!!! Ok, wow, uh...I don't know what to say, this is just what I did, nothing more and nothing less, I'm not here to go over EVERY POSSIBLE method, I'm just saying what worked out best for me. If you've got a nifty method for leveling, post it in comment, I'll review it, if I don't like it or think its dumb, I'll delete it, but if you're serious and know an easy or fun way to level in the context, just comment it.

Ok finally, onto legit content. First thing to know is that if you're at level 40 and have not hit up Stranglethorn Vale, go there immediatly. For the early 40s Stranglethorn Vale (STV) will be your friend. It has green quests, lots of green quests. What do I mean by green quests? I mean that when you pull up the quest log, the quest items are in green, this means that the recomended level to do the quest is about 2-3 levels below your level. These quests are good.

OH LOL I wOnt dO qUeSts tHat lOW, nOT g00d XP! Ok well let me explain why these quests are good, quest do give diminished XP if they're green, however, I belive it is only about a 10% loss in XP. The time it takes to finish a green quest from the recomended level drops by approximatly 25-50%. This makes the 10% XP loss negligable since you can finish 2 or more green quests in the time it would have taken you to finish 1 yellow, orange, or red quest.

Ok now that you understand the value of these green quests, don't blow off the yellow and orange ones, the reason being 2 things: Gear and Money. Lets face it, the high level quests give some kick-ass gear for relativly little work (Compared to running an instace a dozen times to get that one sword). Also, simple logic is, the harder the quest, the greater the weight in your pocketbook when you complete it. Simple

This brings me to my second leveling tip. Run at least one instance every other level, this wi-

iNSANcEz aR3 noT g00D foR lvliNG! Ok, true, they're not as fast XP by killing 2-3 monsters with 4 other people. However, let me explain my logic here. If you have instance quests, they usually give rewards MUCH better than regular quests, these rewards are usually gear. Better gear equals faster questing out on the world map. Faster questing equals faster leveling. Same with the weapons and armor in the instace. Sure you may not get the Dagger of + 20 Agi and +12 stam that you really wanted, but that amor drop that is better than your current one means less down time, more time killing. So keep this in mind, instances are good for gear, good gear is good for questing, good questing is good for leveling.

Ok, so there you go, Iwould say in STV until your at LEAST 42, preferable 43. Some people can stay in STV till 45, but I got bored at 43 so I left for some change of scenery. This took me down to Gadztan in Tanaris. Tanaris was great for me! It offerend some nice change of scenery as well as some heavier quests. The quests are not green and in fact a lot of them are orange, I personally found them about right, even though they were "Above" me. Had some trouble with some of the pirate quests down in the souther part of Tanaris, but with a good buddy about the same level as me, they went by quick and the rewards were awsome. I hit 45 in Tanaris a day after I got there. My final time for Level 40-45? About 10-15 hours of game play. Not bad, and the green quests were nice!

oMG! i can't d0 thaT, pLZ h3LP! Well thats a personal problem, I did it fine and I can only thing of one quest "Tapped Water Dowsing" where I had an issue with the quests being WAAAAYYY to hard. So I delt with it and you should just suck it up and do the same!
